Married At First Sight's Ben Jardine reveals all on his relationship history

On episode two of the new Married At First Sight series and we caught up with newlyweds Ben and Stephanie on their honeymoon.

The pair, who married in episode one of the Channel 4 series, looked hopelessly in love as they frolicked in the sun and played around romantically.

However, there was a shocking reveal over dinner as Benjamin opened-up about his last relationship, which ended just 10 months before his scientifically arranged marriage through Married At First Sight.

C4 had whisked away the loved-up duo to Mallorca for a five-day honeymoon, where things seemingly flourished from good to great.

First up, we caught up with the couple ironing out the finer details of any relationship, like whether they could make one other a decent cuppa coffee.

It’s an important one.

Ben also added: She’s cool, she’s amazing. She’s seems like the girl version of my best mate.”

Once the couple arrived in the sunshine and relationship continued to blossom with hand holding, bum slapping and as Stephanie described it “heavy snogging”.

But on day four, following a spot of snorkelling and a romantic cruise, the two sat down for their first serious discussion as a couple.

Ben opened up about his past relationship, where he was with his partner for 12 years:

All I’ve had in the past few years of my life is coldness and darkness. It’s like waking up from a bad dream and suddenly the next day it’s a really nice day.”

The biggest twist came as Ben said that his relationship ended “about 10 months ago” meaning a tight time period between tying the knot with Stephanie.

As part of the TV show agreement and the newlyweds packed up their holiday stuff, preparing to move in together.

The requirement of the show is for Ben and Steph to live together for a minimum of seven weeks.

There were contrasting views when it came to this next leap of faith, however, with Stephanie earmarking her “excitement” and Ben proving a little more on the sceptical side, saying:

You don’t really know someone until you live with them.”
