Fans of Made in Chelsea were left miffed by a severe lack of continuity during series 17 episode 6, as Olivia Bentley finished the episode admitting to hair loss concerns.

The blonde-haired beauty and long-serving MIC cast member is renown for her varying hairstyles.

However, from a brief breakfast coffee to an evening gala, Liv’s hair had completely changed in length. So, what’s the story? Does Olivia wear a wig? And does she suffer from alopecia?

Does Olivia Bentley suffer from hair loss?

Yes.

Liv initially opened up about her hair loss issues during Made in Chelsea episode 8, where she broke down to tears during a conversation with her mum.

However, Liv was soon perked up by her pals as they joked about giving her wig a name.

Since then, Liv has gone on record thanks to an exclusive interview with Hello! Magazine.

The 23-year-old explained to the magazine that she started to notice her hair was falling out at age 16, with huge clumps of hair coming out every time she either brushed or washed it.

It was a sign of alopecia, and something Liv has secretly battled with ever since. She told Hello!

It’s left me with feelings of insecurity over the years, so I’ve tried to hide my bald patches and receding hairline by wearing hats and hairpieces, and dyeing my naturally dark brown hair blonde.

Instead of retreating into my insecurity and concealing my hair loss even more, I decided to go public. Not enough is spoken about alopecia in women; it’s still a taboo subject we tend to hide. Now I hope that by coming forward, I will encourage other women and girls in the same situation not to feel upset or embarrassed any more.

Liv also explained in MIC that bleaching her hair was probably making the condition worse.

However, she felt that staying blonde was essential to her look.

Has Liv always had short hair?

Yes.

While we can only cover as far back as Olivia’s first appearance on MIC in 2016, the 23-year-old has always had short hair throughout her TV career.

She’s renown for wearing her doo wet and slicked back or tied into a short ponytail.

On the occasions where she has been seen with longer hair, Liv has been wearing either a wig or clip-in extensions.

These photos and captions help to explain how Liv has always had help in extending the length of her hair.

According to reports, Olivia often opts for clip-in extensions from Tatiana Karelina.

Made in Chelsea’s continuity issues explained

Liv’s easy clip-in and clip-out habits help to explain how her hair can look so different across one singular Made in Chelsea episode.

In episode 6, Olivia went from her classic short hair to a longer style… then back again in the space of three short scenes.

From what we now know, it looks like a case of some quality clip-ins.
