For those who have enjoyed the past couple of months teasing Laura Anderson about her age, unfortunately, her reign at the top has come to an end.
Laura is no longer the oldest contestant on Love Island 2018.
Bournemouth carpenter Paul Knops will enter the villa on Monday night (16th July 2018) becoming the oldest cast member of series four and the third oldest in Love Island history.
Mind you, he does have a great beard!
Who Is Paul Knops?
Although ‘Bournemouth carpenter’ may not be the most glamorous of titles, Paul has the biggest claim to fame out of everyone inside the Love Island villa.
Having also spent most of his life posing in front of the camera, the half-British half-Swedish model once snogged Britney Spears while working alongside the world-famous superstar.
And this wasn’t very long ago!
Performing in the music video of Britney’s 2016 hit Make Me, Paul grabbed himself a snog with the American pop star in a steamy final scene.
Paul said: I was the lead guy in the Britney Spears video Make Me. Me and Britney were friends for a bit. I got to know her really well during the making of the video.”
How Paul has now ended up on Love Island, chasing girls 10 years his younger, we don’t know.
But each to their own, eh.
What is His Age?
Paul Knops is 31-years-old, two years older than the second oldest villa contestant, Laura Anderson.
Series three star Marcel Somerville is the oldest contestant to feature in Love Island, although he was also 31 at the time.
Who Does Paul Have His Eye On?
Looking at the current Love Island couples, Paul has some seriously slim pickings.
Laura Anderson would be the obvious choice based on age alone, while a huge twist could see him pair up with Megan Barton-Hanson or Georgia Steel.
None of those girls are on his shortlist, however.
Paul said: Physically, the person I’m most attracted to in the villa is Kaz. She is beautiful. And Alexandra, I really like her aura, she seems to be a very relaxed girl and I think she can have a deep conversation, I feel she has a bit about her. I’d like to get to know her.”
WATCH LOVE ISLAND EVERY NIGHT (EXCEPT SATURDAY) ON ITV2 AT 9 PM.
