Roxanne Pallett gave her first interview since leaving Celebrity Big Brother during the brand new Jeremy Vine chat show on Monday morning (September 3rd).
Roxy looked frightened and fragile as she was asked several questions about the incident where she accused CBB housemate Ryan Thomas of deliberately punching her in the stomach to cause harm.
Jeremy replayed the footage from the episode and probed Roxy about whether she felt she was in the wrong.
Did it Hurt?
Jeremy asked Roxy whether the punch hurt and if she regretted reacting the way that she did.
Roxanne said: At the time it hurt. But, when I look back at the footage – it was the first thing I saw when I got out – I got it wrong. I really got it wrong.”
Footage of Ryan crying in the Diary Room, as the former Coronation Street actor added that he had “done nothing wrong”, was played to an emotionless Roxanne.
“Why Were You Crying?”
Roxanne replied: After it happened, my mind ran away with me. I’m a sensitive person and all my friends and family can vouch for that, everything in the house becomes so heightened… your insecurities are heightened.”
Roxanne continued, explaining how the punch “felt worse than it was”.
There was one keyword that Roxy felt the need to stress as she was made her apology. She felt the word ‘deliberate’ was the cause of such public uproar.
Roxanne stuck to her word that the play fight punches “felt as if they hurt” but regretted making out that Ryan had deliberately set out to hurt her.
Roxanne said: It is the word ‘deliberate’ that I regret.
I massively apologize. Not just to Ryan but his friends, family and fans. It is the word ‘deliberate’ I regret. There was no malice or intent to harm and that is what I apologise for because I shouldn’t have questioned that.”
Roxanne opened up about a past of domestic abuse and said that her reactions to physical contact are often heightened because of this.
Roxanne said: I have been a victim of physical abuse. In my life, I have become conditioned and oversensitive to things like that.
My judgement was clouded, my senses heightened. I wasn’t thinking straight and need to work on this and becoming a better person.”
