Brand new ITVbe series Chris & Olivia: Crackin’ On has proved nothing but a documentation of the couple’s break up.
Chris Hughes and Oliva Attwood, famous for their relationship on 2017’s Love Island, parted ways just weeks before their spinoff series was set to air.
Two episodes in, and we have watched bitter arguments between the couple, often relating to jealousy or inappropriate behaviour on drunken nights out. Or both. They’re kind of married together.
Now, however, we know that social media trolls also played their part in breaking up Chris and Olivia.

Olivia was getting ready for her model shoot as brand ambassador for In Style when she brought up a recent incident of social media abuse.

For such a hot-headed and fiery character as Olivia, she admitted that it is often difficult to sit back and take abuse.
In fact, her initial idea was to reply “suck your mum, guys I’m fine”.
Hmm. Probably best you didn’t, Liv.
Make-up stylist Mikey added: “There’s always going to be haters. If you put six pounds on they’d be calling you obese.”
This lead the conversation to Olivia’s appearance at Ascot, where she had an “extra few canapés” and a slightly bloated stomach.
Naturally, this resulted in tabloid headlines speculating that she could be pregnant – talk about one extreme to another.

Clearly, the pressure from the media and social media had filtered back to boyfriend Chris.
Liv told Chris about the headlines stating she was “worryingly thin”, with Chris finding himself having to defend his girlfriend’s weight in a piece to camera.
Now that’s not your everyday relationship…

The cracks were evident on both sides of the relationship, with Olivia teary-eyed as she opened up about the social media trolls and their influence on her self-confidence.
She said: “People just think I’m so tough, I’m just all b*llocks. But in reality, those digs are starting to make me feel like I don’t really like myself.”

Hopefully, among the trolls, Oliva can find the time to scroll through Twitter and see the positive tweets.
Cus don’t worry Liv, we’ve got your back.
Literally love @oliviajade_att such an angel. So brutally honest and real ❤️❤️ #ChrisAndOlivia

I’d say … no one has a relationship in the media so it must be hard everyone knowing your business and poking their nose in, 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ trolling won’t help them. I actually feel bad for them, @chrishughes_22 @oliviajade_att #ChrisAndOlivia #justsayin
