At the end of another turbulent, confusing and unforgiving week in the Survival Of The Fittest lodge and we have been left with a serious shake-up of contestants.
The weekend saw one female contestant leave, one huge twist and a new male arrival.
The series final is edging closer with just one more week of physical challenges and evictions. Then, the public will vote for their winners.
Whether the winner is an individual, team or couple, we really have no idea. The rules on this ITV2 series are pretty much being written as it goes along.
Welcome to the chaos . . .
It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Mariam Musa as she was struck with good and bad news.
Having started a relationship with fellow lodge-mate Callum Pardoe, Mariam was soon dumped, leaving her in tears in the diary room and sobbing to her female teammates.
Callum told Mariam: “I’m finding it weird. I love spending time with you, I know you’re the same and we bounce off each other I just feel like something is missing for me, romantically.”
However, good news came after the girls’ defeat in the physical challenge, where the boys picked Mariam to be immune from elimination.
Nice touch geezers.
Host Laura Whitmore announced a huge twist after the girls had lost their physical challenge.
She explained that instead of being eliminated by the boys, the girls would go head to head in a ‘Deep Water’ challenge.
Mariam was selected to be immune from this elimination, along with newbie Hayley (more on her here) through newcomer rights, with Georgie Cole finishing last in the task and sent packing.
The girls had to climb across an assault course collecting hoops . The last girl to collect all five hoops and swim across to a pontoon lost, in this case Georgie.
Georgie said: “Being in The Lodge for that long was emotionally and physically draining. That was my fourth challenge in a row so my body was aching even from the Leave Me Hanging challenge the day before.”
Long-haired New Boy
With Joel Bennett sent packing from the South African savanna we met his replacement, 26-year-old personal trainer Tom Wilson.
With his long hair, muscular physique and wealth of tattoos, the hunk from Nottingham has been likened to actor Jason Momoa and the superhero Aquaman character he portrays in Hollywood blockbuster Justice League.
