Surviving R Kelly is a Lifetime docu-series released in the first week of 2019.
The programme details how R ‘n’ B singer R Kelly has had multiple sexual abuse and misconduct allegations made against him since the 1990s.
It also details more recent allegations made against the singer and songwriter ranging from physical abuse to holding women in his home in a ‘cult-like’ organisation.
One of the women who is reportedly still living at R Kelly’s house is Azriel Clary. So, what do we know about Azriel?

Who is Azriel Clary?
Azriel Clary is a 21-year-old singer who was considered a huge prodigy in her teenage years, which is when she met R Kelly.
In 2015, when Azriel was 17, she convinced her parents to let her go on tour with R Kelly, under the agreement that she would also finish school.
Since 2016 – when she was taken under the wing of R Kelly and about to turn 18 – Azriel’s contact with her parents started to diminish.
Alice and Angelo Clary, Azriel’s parents, featured in Lifetime’s Surviving R Kelly documentary, which re-airs on February 5th, 2019 in the U.K.
In their interview, Azriel’s parents recounted their experiences of flying out to see their daughter after they were alerted by their other daughter about Azriel’s safety.
Alice said: “Our daughter, A’Iceis, had actually told us on the phone that when she and Azriel were in the hotel you could see into the bathroom and she said that she could see bruises all over Azriel’s body.”
Azriel’s parents flew out to see her the next day to check in on her and asked to see her bruises.
Dad Angelo said:
What we did not know, he does his own makeup on the girls to cover up the bruises.
Alice continued: “We found out later that normally he doesn’t bruise them on their face or their arms (but more covered parts of the body)”.
Azriel’s sister, A’Iceis, also spoke out on Surviving R Kelly and said that R Kelly has brainwashed her sister.
R Kelly denies all allegations made against him.
Where is Azriel Clary Now?
To this day, no-one is sure on Azriel’s whereabouts. According to TMZ, Azriel’s parents have reported her as a missing person.
Following the 2017 ‘sex cult’ allegations, the movement Mute R Kelly was created. And, since the Lifetime documentary aired, there have been – and still are – ongoing repercussions for R Kelly.
According to the BBC: “R Kelly and the Sony-owned RCA record label have ended their working relationship”.
