The Repair Shop is back!

This show sees a team of experts take what seems unfixable and give it a new lease of life. Whether it’s a family heirloom, a significant historical object or just your nan’s old necklace, they’ll fix it!

But fans of the show have many questions about The Repair Shop, about who pays for the repairs, if the shop is real and the question of why the narrator sounds so familiar!

So who is the narrator of The Repair Shop? Here is everything you need to know…

Who is the narrator?

The narrator for series two to four of The Repair Shop is none other than acclaimed Welsh actor Robert Pugh.

The 68-year-old has had an extensive career in both television and film. He’s been working in the industry since the 1970s!

Robert Pugh: Acting bio

After graduating from Rose Bruford College, a drama school based near Sidcup, Robert began his acting journey through television.

He has worked in numerous successful TV shows over the years before being a narrator on The Repair Shop.

In 2012 he joined the cast of HBO’s global phenomenon Game of Thrones as the wildling Craster.

Since then he has also played Jack Reynolds in the smash hit Doctor Foster and joined the cast of ITV’s Mr Selfridge in 2016.

What else has Robert been in?

If you don’t recognise him from any of those shows, then we’re sure you will have come across Robert and his acting prowess on the silver screen.

Robert has had roles in films such as Kinky Boots, The Ghost Writer and more recently 2018’s Colette, starring alongside Keira Knightley.

He has also starred in bigger blockbuster films such as 2010’s Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.

Is there a new narrator for 2019?

Yes!

Bill Paterson is currently providing the VoiceOver for The Repair Shop’s fifth series.

The 73-year-old Scottish actor is best known for playing Fleabag’s dad in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s hit BBC series. But Bill has also played the lead in BBC series Sea of Souls, Mr Meagles in Little Dorrit and Private Frazer in the 2016 reboot of Dad’s Army.

Bill has also narrated The Farmers’ Country Showdown.
