It’s not very often that long-standing TV shows come to an abrupt end but it looks like it could be this way for the BBC show This Week.

This Week started back in the early 2000’s and each week it takes a look at the political headlines to discuss among a panel.

The current affairs and politics programme has been rumoured to have come to an end. So what happened to the BBC’s This Week?

What Happened to BBC’s This Week?

This Week has been airing since 2003 with presenter Andrew Neil front and centre.

It was announced on February 15th, 2019 that Andrew Neil would be stepping down from presenting the This Week show.

The BBC are choosing to discontinue to show without 69-year-old Andrew and wrote on Twitter that he is ‘inimitable’.

When is This Week on?

The show normally airs live on Thursday nights from the BBC Westminster studio.

This Week is on from 11:35 pm onwards and will come to an end in July 2019.

Who is Andrew Neil?

Since 2003 This Week has been hosted by journalist and presenter Andrew Neil.

Each week Andrew led the show in which political headlines were put before a panel to debate.

Andrew has had a long and successful career, he’s been editor of the Sunday Times, presented Daily Politics on BBC Two and is a chair of publishing company ITP Media Group and more.
