Home Alone is bustling with iconic characters.
While little Macaulay Culkin may have stolen the show, the fumbling pair of burglars are perhaps two of the most underrated characters in the movie. Hell, the franchise.
Let’s catch up with Harry and Merv right now in 2018 to see what they’re up to and whether they’ve actually completed any successful heists.

Marv and Harry
Those two hopeless burglars had full names of Marv Merchants and Harry Lime.
Harry was the shorter of the two, often wearing a classic ‘look at me I’m a burglar’ small black hat.
He came across as the leader of the two-man gang and, although they were sussed out by a small kid, perhaps the smarter of the duo.
Marv: Kids are scared of the dark.
Harry: You’re afraid of the dark, too, Marv.
According to the Home Alone trivia page, their gang name of ‘Wet Bandits’ stemmed from their calling card of leaving their victims’ water running.
Of course, the pair also featured in Home Alone 2: New York City, where they had successfully managed to escape from prison.
Although somehow having the skill to break out of prison but not break into a child’s home, Marv ad Harry left the franchise known as the ‘Sticky Bandits’.
Who Played Marv and Harry in Home Alone?
Marv and Harry were played by Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci, respectively.
Daniel has had a long career in movieland with 77 IMDB credits, although nothing you would instantly recognise.
He is now 61 years old and has three kids alongside a wife.
Joe may not have featured in as many movies but he served roles in more big-name Hollywood films such as Lethal Weapon 2, 3 and 4, Goodfellas, Raging Bull and Casino.
All Joe’s major roles came before the start of the 21st century as he retired from acting in 1999, appearing sporadically in cinema ever since.
Joe has had two wives and one child.
