Filming for season three of The Handmaid’s Tale is already well underway, with Twitter users noticing some scarlet-clad extras in Toronto, Canada.

The actresses were seen shooting scenes for the brand new series outside Toronto’s City Hall back in February, with many sharing photos of the shoot.

The leaked photos showed a large group of handmaids in the snow dressed in their iconic red robes, so it is safe to that some of the new series takes place in Canada.

Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC

In February, The Handmaid’s Tale made headlines as 200 actresses stood together on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

Dressed in matching bonnets and robes, the extras filmed in front of the historic Lincoln Memorial, just one mile away from the White House.

Both Elisabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes were present at the iconic site, with hundreds gathering to film season three of the series.

When will Handmaid’s Tale season 3 air in the UK?

Channel 4 announced the show would return for a third season on the channel in February 2019.

The series is set to premiere in the US on June 5th, 2019 on streaming platform Hulu.

This means Handmaid’s Tale season three will likely air soon after this date on Channel 4.
