Reality TV shows can often be defined by their voice-overs.
Narrators add humour, provide wit and often just take pleasure in ripping the p*ss out of Z-list celebrities.
Giving hit shows such as Love Island, Celebs Go Dating, Ibiza Weekender and spin-off Weekender: Boat Party instantly recognisable voices – here are the seven best voice-over personalities on reality TV.

7. Brennan Reece (Survival Of The Fittest)
Okay, so Survival Of The Fittest wasn’t exactly an instant classic.
Come to think of it, neither was the voice-over work of Brennan Reece.
However, there were flashes of comic genius from the 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer.
A certain comedian almost pipped our number one slot in this list, proving that with a little fine-tuning, perhaps Brennan could follow in his footsteps.

6. Russell Kane (Five Star Hotel)
Celebs Go Dating expert Eden Blackman accused Russell of copying their voiceover guy Rob Beckett.
Err, yeah, well Rob is extremely funny.
With both shows airing on E4, it’s no doubt that producers wanted Russell to emulate the success that Rob had.
While some jokes were a little same-same, that doesn’t mean Russell isn’t hilarious in his own right.
I want the voice over guy from #fivestarhotel to narrate my life – without a doubt the best thing about this hilarious show!

The man that does the voice overs on #fivestarhotel doesn’t get enough credit 😂🤣

5. Joe Lycett (Ibiza Weekender and Weekender: Boat Party)
Squeaky, over-enthusiastic and borderline annoying – Joe Lycett suits the Ibiza Weekender series down to a T.
The comedian has been voicing Ibiza Weekender for a while now and we hope he continues his work over the recently commisioned two new series, plus the Weekender: Boat Party which is now airing on ITV2.

And if he wants some more ITV work, we wouldn’t mind him taking over from the Dinner Date lady…
The voice over for #Dinnerdate is soooooooooooooooo annoying.

4. Craig Charles (Takeshi Castle)
So we’re really stretching the boundaries of what counts as reality TV, here.
Nonetheless, Craig Charles is an original don, and his voice is synonymous with the world-famous Japanese game show.
A re-run of Takeshi Castle on a Sunday afternoon with Craig Charles giggling away the – life is good.
3. Ian Stirling (Love Island)
Yet another comedian, Ian’s clean-cut humour has brought ITV2 series Love Island to life.
While his quips and jokes remain a little PC for Love Island’s teenage audience, Ian still knows how to rip into a Z-list celebrity with expert precision.
A young David Attenborough in the making…

2. Rob Beckett (Celebs Go Dating)
Rob has entered legend status when it comes to reality TV narration.
His hilarious commentary on Celebs Go Dating has earned him all sort of plaudits, with unshackled and explicit rants aimed at any celebrity that he fancies aiming his verbal shotgun at.
Like Tallia Storm, for example…
rob becketts voice over is my fave thing #CelebsGoDating

1. Dave Lamb (Come Dine With Me)
However, the number one slot can only go to one person.
Voice-over king Dave Lamb has turned what is a pretty boring and repetitive reality TV concept into a nation’s favourite.
@ComeDineWithMe Voice over is the best 😂 Everytime it get me 😂
— Charliee🦄🦄 (@CharlieeCoopa) April 30, 2018
Come Dine With Me has been running for 14 years now, boasting 41 series.
The hilarious commentary of Mr Lamb is the selling point of the show, and he is undoubtedly the best voice-over personality in recent history.
